I wanted to give a special thank you to Nancy for nominating me for this Sunshine Blogger Award. Please make time to check out Nancy’s Blog, which is full of positivity and advice.
Actually, I have a rather glaringly large confession to make. I have been nominated for this award 4 times now. But because life has got in the way I am only now sitting down and writing my answers. In fact I was nominated whilst this draft was there waiting to be finished.
I was also nominated by the gorgeous Rachael who writes the most brilliant blogs on how to improve your blogs and Pinterest profile. And the lovely Joan, who writes the most positive and empowering posts. And finally the amazing Cathy, who travels the world helping others and specializes in kindness. Their blogs are just wonderful, so please do go look there too. It would be rude of me not to mention them, and so I apologise profusely for not doing this award sooner. Ladies, I hope that you can forgive me.
Sunshine Blogger Award
“The Sunshine Blogger Award was created to showcase bloggers who are creative, uplifting, and inspiring. It also helps to bring recognition to so many talented and dedicated bloggers.”
There are a few rules to the award and nominations. These are:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you in your blog post and link back to her /his blog.
2. Answer the questions the blogger asked you.
3. Nominate some (please note the original rules said 11) new bloggers to receive the award and give them 11 questions you have chosen.
4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger award logo in your post on your blog.
These were the questions that Nancy posed to me:
When you are old, what do you think children will ask you to tell stories about?
About how we lived without the internet or smart phones. I can remember a time before these. It is quickly becoming a very distant memory for people to imagine what that time was like!
What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?
I already have that hobby in sewing. It costs me a fortune and I would have all the fabric if I could!
When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?
It used to be dental related advice. Either advice on what to do about their toothache, or what to do about a tooth that was giving trouble. I even had a friend who used to get me to bring my cement to choir to stick in her inlay. LOL! Now it’s more likely to be my almost 3 yo asking for help with changing the DVD. How the mighty have fallen.
What takes up too much of your time?
Thinking about what to blog about. Worrying about if I offend someone. Just worrying in general.
What do you wish you knew more about?
Technology. Whilst I have learnt so much in the last 3 months about computers and blogging terms, I have a massive amount to learn. However, I love a challenge though.
What’s your claim to fame?
Ah. I have sung solo in lots of places. I used to be a backing singer and sang at the London Palladium. You can see a snippet here.
What do you like to do the old fashioned way?
I am quite old fashioned anyway. Letters are far better than emails in my opinion. I think the written word is so much more lovely than the printed.
What’s your favorite genre of book or movie?
I love science fiction films and books. One of my favourite authors is Terry Pratchett.
What’s something you’ve been meaning to try but just haven’t gotten around to it?
I really wanted to learn to crochet. Earlier this year I did a morning course, and I really meant to expand on doing it, but haven’t gotten around to doing it. I really should.
What’s the best thing that happened to you last week?
Last weekend I caught up with a friend that I hadn’t seen for a while. The little things count for lots these days.
What piece of entertainment do you wish you could erase from your mind so that you could experience for the first time again?
All the Marvel films, so I can watch them all in order again. In fact I might just do that this weekend anyway!
So. I would like to nominate the following people for this sunshine blogger award.
They all have fabulous blogs, so do go take a look.
As always, to my nominees, please do not feel pressured to pass on this award, but it would be great if you did.

These were so interesting to read. I have always wanted to read a Terry Pratchett book but I haven’t gotten round to it yet. I agree, whilst emails are so much easier, written words are so much more special. I think it would a great thing to tell your children about the time before technology such as mobiles because they won’t have a clue! x
Thank you! I am such a real Pratchett fan. I would suggest you start from the beginning, though his first two disc world novels are not my favourites. And yes, I cannot wait to explain what it was like not to have ever part of your life in your hand!
Days before technology, we have to keep the stories going. I’m a big fan of the late Sir Terry Pratchett too.

I love the fact that I lived before mobile phones and the internet. Just makes me realise just how far we have come.
Fab read and lovely to get to know you more. I explained to my son that Youtube was not always around and his face, he was shocked lol X #mmbc1
There is so much that we take for granted these days! Mobile phones with the internet on?! Crazy! Lol.
So much to love in your answers. Your reminded me again to actually do something about crochet and to get back to the delights of Terry Pratchett. Pinterest has loads of good stuff on the tech side of blogging by the way so may be worth you looking. Great to get to know you a little better #MMBC
Thank you Kate. Thank you for reading, and some great advice.
