Potions Class – Science Experiments Book – Our Review And Giveaway

Sometimes chemistry can really seem like magic.

This book can teach you all the science behind some amazing magical transformations. See why certain wonderful reactions happen whilst experiencing some brilliant magic take place right in front of your eyes.

The Potions Class – Science Experiments book is full of all the instructions you need to create some amazing experiments with ingredients that you will probably already have in the cupboards at home.

Amongst the book’s pages you will find how to make some brilliant magical effects. But also you can discover why these experiments work. This is a great way for children to discover the science behind the magic.

Some of the experiments are best assisted by your favourite grown up, but there are several that are suitable for all ages.

What Experiments Can I Conjure Up?

Each of the experiments has a magical theme. But the pages of this book include recipes to make slime, kinetic sand, secret ink and glittery bath bombs amongst many other fantastical concoctions.

The instructions are very easy to follow, and the scientific explanations are a great way to discuss the magic.

We decided to make Troll Snot. Which is basically a great way to discover non-Newtonian fluids. Initially, the mixture seems very soft when you prod it, but when you punch it it feels hard. You can squeeze the mixture into a hard ball in your hand, but within seconds it turns to goo once more. It’s fascinating!

I love anything that can bring science alive to young minds. And so I think that this book really hits the mark with the way that it is magic themed.

Undoubtedly I would have loved a book like this when I was younger. And I think that you will love it too.

That sounds like it would have been a perfect book to accompany our Harry Potter lessons we did a few years ago! I planned a whole week or so of Harry Potter themed learning as my kids just LOVED that series.
