How to Seamlessly Transition from Winter to Spring Footwear

To say fashion is seasonal can often feel like an understatement. Not only will there be particular trends and styles that are big in that year and season, but fashion also has to be wary of the weather conditions that help to drive what people are wearing. Nowhere is that more obvious than with footwear, which changes with the season to reflect trends and the weather outdoors. So, as people prepare to close the door on winter and embrace the start of spring, here are some tips that will show you how to seamlessly transition from your winter footwear to your spring footwear.

Pack the Big Clunky Boots Away

There are all kinds of women’s boots that you can purchase, but when it comes to winter boots, they tend to be big, clunky, and built to keep your feet warm and dry. While spring is often notorious for precipitation, it falls in the form of rain, not snow and ice, so there’s a good chance it’s safe to pack away the heavy winter boots.

Now, that doesn’t mean boots are a no-no in spring; in fact, they are often staples on the fashion runways. Instead, opt for a more streamlined boot that is lightweight, doesn’t have that big thick tread for grip, and doesn’t need to be insulated.

Some of the most popular spring boots include shorter style boots such as booties and ankle boots. These are a great way to look fashionable and make it clear you’ve moved into the next season.

Flats Provide a Sense of Style and Warmer Days Ahead

This is also a great time to start including flats in your daily wardrobe selection. Flats just have a warm-weather feel to them that is absolutely ideal for spring days. You can pick up a few neutral-colored flats that will work with a variety of outfits, or you can choose to make a fashion statement through your footwear and pick some of the season’s hottest looks. This includes bright prints, interesting materials/fabrics, and metallic details.

Don’t Underestimate the Importance of a Fashion Sneaker

We aren’t talking about your beat-up athletic shoes that you wear to the gym. Rather think along the terms of fashion sneakers from top designers. Designer sneakers allow you to be comfortable yet look very high-fashion. They can also be paired with everything from your favorite denim, to spring dresses, capri pants, and even dressy trousers.

Gucci shoes are an excellent example of the designer fashion sneaker trend. You can find all of Gucci’s latest arrivals on SSENSE, which is known for carrying the hottest pieces of the moment from some of the best designers out there. Options include the Gucci Beige Tennis 1977 Sneakers, which have a retro vibe to them. Or the Gucci Off-White GG Apple Tennis 1977 Sneakers for those who like to make a statement with their footwear.

Transition without Missing a Beat

By using these simple tips, you’ll be able to transition from your winter to spring footwear without missing a beat.

I always have trouble figuring out what shoes to wear during such a weird season. I usually wear sneakers.
