Well. I have been blogging for almost 3 weeks now. So I thought I’d do a blog about my Goals for August 2018. I’m also taking stock of July and what I have achieved last month.

Goals for August 2018

When I started out I had a set picture in my head of doing 3 blogs a week. One on weight loss. Another on mind set. And the final one on sewing.

As the weeks have gone on I have realised that I have drifted away from this pattern and that it is more of an organic process. I sometimes end up blogging about other things that seem relevant at the time to me.

To someone who is quite organised this straying from my plans has come of a bit of a shock! But I am very happy with how the blog has developed. I am slowly learning and do plan to do more, but at my own pace.

My goal is still to write 3 blogs a week about my 3 main subjects, but will forgive myself the occasional diversion.

I have taken stock of all my views, DA and social media followers. My aim is to double all these as my goals for August 2018.

Weight Loss

Weight loss wise , July has been a non starter for my weight loss. I have actually gained 4-5 pounds as I have been away twice. It is important to draw a line under this, and get on and lose some more weight in August. I am setting myself the goal of a half stone weight loss in August, by tracking what I am eating daily. Also, I plan to get my steps count back up. At one point I was doing an average of 8000 steps a day. This has dropped to an average of 5000/day in the last couple of weeks due to being away. I do want to get this average figure back up to at least 7000.

I have been planning to set up a business selling my sewing creations on Etsy but haven’t even started doing this yet. This month, I aim to get this business set up, with 10 listings on Etsy of my products.

I am taking part in the Monthly Goals (and updates) Linky hosted by Charlotte over at CharlotteMusha.co.uk

Have you set some monthly goals for August 2018? I would love to hear them. Do comment below.

Love your goals! I need to get back to the gym too. But I would love to read about how you’re improving your DA score mine is still pretty bad.

I think that my goals are pretty achievable. In the future I will quantify them a little more, but I’ve only just begun. My DA is 6 right now, so will do more link swaps and use social media to try and double that this month! x

Ooo what type of items are you hoping to sell on Etsy?
I really need to get my sewing machine back out x

Children’s clothes. Dresses, shorts, Small bags. etc. I’m not sewing enough either at the moment! x

Sometimes I love setting goals, but other times I like to just see where the here and now takes me. I’d love to have a browse through your Etsy store. What’s the address?

    1. Jo Boyne says:

Thank you Damian. Although I have set myself goals, I’m not the best at keeping them. My Etsy shop is not really up and running yet, but I will put a link to it on my site once I am happy with it. Thank you for your reply.

    Good luck!
I am trying to lose weight also, and using a step counter to gauge my activity level. I think trying to get your steps up to 8000 again will be awesome. Bodies need movement!

    1. Jo Boyne says:

I use an app on my iPhone. You’re right, any movement is good!

I need to do an update. I’m halfway through the month nearly! And yes, I’ve gone off topic several times I think. I’m enjoying it, but agree with you. It’s hard to fit the writing in when I need to! x
