Having somewhere to retreat to at the end of a busy day is good for your mind, body and soul. Whether you’re unwinding after a day at the office, from chasing after the kids all day – or both – being able to tuck yourself away and reset is good for your overall well being. Thankfully, you don’t have to spend a fortune or spend weeks updating your bedroom space. Even the smallest of changes can transform your room and your mindset. Read on to discover some bedroom updates you can complete this weekend.
Bedroom Updates You Can Complete This Weekend
The bedroom is supposed to be a sanctuary of peace and relaxation, a place of intimacy and calm. Yet so few of us find our bedroom spaces tranquil at all. Whether it’s clean or dirty laundry piled high, the kids’ toys that have made their way upstairs, your laptop, TV, or ironing board, endless clutter and junk, it’s easy to see why so many of only choose to sleep in our bedrooms, rather than making the most of this personal space.
Dress Your Walls With Photos
If you’re fed up of staring at dull, blank walls then why not freshen them up with a beautiful gallery wall. Make you wall star all your favourite moments and people. These stylish hexagon canvas prints are a simple yet elegant addition to any bedroom space. These canvas prints can be created using digital photos from your devices, and are incredibly easy to stick to your walls – no drilling or hammering required – which is great news if you’re renting, or DIY brings you out in cold sweats!
They’re also easy to rearrange and move whenever you please. Filling your bedroom space with memories that make you feel good, or photos of you and your partner, can instantly alter the ambience in your bedroom space.
New Bed Linen
Your bed is the centrepiece of your room. So, why not dress it up a little? Updating your bed linen is a simple and effective way to dramatically alter the look of your bedroom. Making it appear fresh and personalised within minutes. Consider crisp white sheets for a hotel vibe, complete with plenty of additional throw pillows and blankets for a pop of colour.
Declutter
Whether the contents of the wardrobe are spilling out onto the floor, you can’t close your drawers properly, or the carpet is hidden somewhere underneath all that junk, it’s time for a declutter session. Decluttering will instantly make your bedroom much more relaxing and enjoyable to be in. Start by clearing the floor and be ruthless!
Move Your Furniture
There’s nothing that will transform the look of your bedroom quicker, than adjusting the positioning of your bedroom furniture. Move your bed to the other side of the room, fix your TV to the wall to free up floor space or move your lamps or rugs around. All of these solutions will quickly transform your bedroom and you can do this within a few hours.
Final Thoughts…
Transforming your bedroom is incredibly easy and it doesn’t have to cost the earth! Consider the points above to get started this weekend.

Some great suggestions. And yep, DIY makes me break out into a cold sweat I used to move my furniture around regularly in our old house because the room was bigger; unfortunately this house is small and it’s simply not possible to move the furniture around at all in my room. I can barely walk around my room as it is, so I look at the simple updates now, like storage solutions, decluttering, colourful bedding, wall prints etc. More photos around the space would be fab.
Have a restful weekend lovely! xx
Great advice! I realized just last night that I need some art or pictures for my bedroom walls. And I saw a great sale on bedding this weekend only so I’ll be checking that out, too!
