The advent bag

Today’s advent bag for the 4th of December has a Happyland Angel. This is a little bit of a clue today as to where the elf has hidden. So Elizabeth will have to go find the elf where her other Happyland figures are kept.

Where is the Elf?

Hiding in the Happyland house in our living room. She has taken up the whole upper level in a bid to get some sleep. A lot of the toys had too much caffeine at the tea party yesterday, and stayed up talking too late.

My cats also weren’t happy at the level of partying last night, they need their sleep too. So I’m thinking of getting them a Christmas gift to make up for it. But what do you get a cat for Christmas?

Top 5 Gifts for Cats this Christmas

1. Catit Design Senses Super Roller Circuit

Most cats I know love to chase objects. The Catit Roller Circuit contains a small ball that will spin through the tunnels but not come out away from the track. No more losing cat balls under the sofa!

2. A Multi-Level Cat Tree Tower

Cats love tree towers for so many reasons. This one is a combined scratching post, has a lookout tower (cats adore getting to high spaces) and a hidey-hole for when they just need their own space.

3. A Machine Washable Pet Bed

Pet beds are great, but they do need to be washed regularly. This one is water resistant and the cat pictured looks very impressed with its quality.

4. Some catnip spray

Catnip doesn’t affect all cats, but when your cat is affected they obviously love this potion. A spray of catnip can be applied to an old toy, so that you don’t need to keep buying new toys all the time.

5. Something to help them through the fireworks in the festive season.

If around your neck of the woods is anything like it is here in Leeds, the fireworks are pretty much continuous over the Christmas period. My cats are terrified of all the loud bangs, and so about now I start to spray around regularly with Feliway Spray. It really does help.

Of course, if you REALLY love your cat, you would also get them one of these.

Music of the Day

The music today is a 70s classic from the amazing Boney M. Even more amazing is the fact that only 2 of the members in the video sang on their songs. The male voice heard isn’t that of front man Bobby Farrell, but the vocal was provided by German singer-songwriter Frank Farian, who also wrote the music for the group.

This song is one of my childhood favourites, but was also requested by fellow blogger Becky from FamilyBudgeting.co.uk .

Hope you enjoy your day. See you tomorrow for another chocolate free helping of advent !

We will also be having clues to what activity I am doing with her. Its also a great way for her to start recognising numbers!

I love that song! gets me right in the mood for Christmas! We can’t give the cats catnip as they go batshit crazy on the stuff and once Harley was going skitso and ended up getting her head in a carrier bag handle and freaked out… I’m so worried that would happen again so they cannot have it – but laser pens are fun to use to watch them chase it.
Thank you for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week!

My cats are too sedate to go totally running crazy but they do skeeter around the floor on their backs which is quite a sight!

Our two would love them too, though I imagine there would be a fight for the top of the tower.
